The ESA-JAXA BepiColombo double spacecraft started its long journey to Mercury on 20 October 2018, lifting off on an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
Its cruise included 1 flyby at the Earth, 2 at Venus and 6 at Mercury, before orbit insertion in November 2026.
