On April 10 2020 at 4:25 UTC, BepiColombo will perform its first and unique flyby at the Earth.
Operations began 1 day earlier and will go on until 11 of April, to perform observations and data acquisition of many instruments, mainly for calibration purposes.
SERENA will operate MIPA and PICAM looking for the observation of first “real” signal when crossing the magnetosheath and the magnetotail. The goal is to performe in-flight calibration among different sectors and among the two sensors. STROFIO will operate in background for testing purpose.
